• AgriFutures Australia is an R&D Corporation that represents the research needs for Australia’s rural industries (e.g. chicken meat, rice, etc), and invests in R&D that can help drive growth and development of high-potential agricultural industries
• Callaghan Innovation is a New Zealand government agency focusing on enabling innovation and its commercialisation
• WA DPIRD is a WA government agency promoting the growth of their agriculture, food production and aquatic resources

Grower Group Alliance National Network Lift Off & Networking Lunch

• Grower Group Alliance is a network of local grower groups, with a collective membership base of over 4,000 Western Australian farm enterprises. The grower groups are a state-level umbrella body that aggregates problem statements of the farms, and have started “innovation brokers” to share specific problem statements and source for solutions.
• The Lift Off ’24 programme is open to interstate and international delegates. GGA will host a sharing session between growers and solutions providers.

Visit to Food Innovation Precinct WA

FIPWA is WA’s Centre of Innovation for the region’s food and beverage manufacturing industry. Murdoch University’s Future Foods Institute manages and runs FIPWA’s R&D centre. The precinct hosts 3 key facilities to foster industry innovation:
1. Research & Development Centre – works with businesses on a range of initiatives across the value chain of food production to consumption. The R&D Centre works closely with the Innovation Centre and the Production Centre for businesses to test market demand and buyers before they scale
2. Innovation Centre – designed to be a landing pad for businesses and entrepreneurs. The Innovation Centre hosts a co-working space for SMEs and entrepreneurs, and provides access to Asia-focused export services, market and consumer testing, new agritech transfer and application programmes, government-related services, and business planning and financial advice
3. Food & Beverage Centre – supported by the WA government, this common-use food tech facility houses advanced food manufacturing equipment to help primary produces and F&B businesses develop, test and produce new products.
